3. Services Offered
Empirical Communication Solutions provides the following services:
Online language teaching
Face-to-face language teaching
Translation services
Proofreading and language editing services
4. Payments and Fees
4.1. General Payment Terms
Services are billed monthly in advance.
4.2. Initial Invoice and Commencement of Services
Once a class schedule or service arrangement is agreed, an invoice shall be issued immediately.
Payment is required in advance of the first class or service delivery, covering services up to the end of that month (see Section 4.4).
Classes or services shall commence once payment has been received.
4.3. Ongoing Monthly Services
For continuing services, a continuation invoice shall be issued on the final working day of each month, covering the following month’s classes or services.
Payment shall be made no later than the first working day of that month.
4.4. Mid-Month Start
If services commence part-way through a month, fees are charged pro-rata from the start date, until the end of that month.
4.5. Payment Methods
Payments shall be made via bank transfer or by means of recognised electronic payment services, including card-based and fintech providers.
5. Refund Policy
Due to the digital and time-based nature of the services provided:
No refunds can be made once classes or services have commenced.
This applies to individual classes, group classes, and prepaid services.
6. Rescheduling Policy
6.1 Individual Classes
Up to two individual classes per calendar month may be rescheduled.
Rescheduling is subject to availability, within the existing timetable.
Rescheduling requests shall be made with reasonable notice.
6.2 Group Classes
Group classes may only be rescheduled if the entire group agrees and an alternative time is available.
Individual participants in a group class cannot reschedule independent to the group.
Classes that do not meet the above conditions are considered delivered and, as such, are non-refundable.
7. Student Conduct
Students are expected to participate respectfully and professionally during classes and communications.
Abusive, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour will not be tolerated. This includes language or conduct directed at race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other similar characteristic, as well as any such behaviour that may be deemed to create an unsafe or hostile learning environment.
The service provider reserves the right to suspend or terminate services in case of non-compliance with the above stated.
8. Service Availability
All services are subject to availability. Timetables may change due to holidays, illness, or unforeseen circumstances. Reasonable notice will be given whenever possible.
9. Limitation of Liability
No guarantees are made regarding specific outcomes or results from language learning. The service provider is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the use of the services or website.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the stated jurisdiction, without reference to conflict-of-law principles.
11. Changes to These Terms
These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time. The version published on the website shall always apply.
